a2b mentors shortlisted for Team London Awards 2015

Team London Awards celebrates the excellence of volunteers. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, will present the awards, and will be joined by a host of celebrity ambassadors for Team London.

Over 90 young people aged 16-18 participated in our peer mentoring scheme between September 2014 to May 2015. Mentors came from 3 schools in the Borough of Barnet - London Academy, Hendon & Whitefield - and supported their younger peers to overcome barriers to learning.

The mentors are shortlisted for the Team volunteering category, three of the most deserving mentors will be chosen to represent the group at the Awards ceremony held at City Hall on Monday 14 September.

Rui Octavio, Nutmeg CEO, said “I’m extremely proud of our peer mentors, they have been positive role models and supported their younger peers to achieve. Being shortlisted for the Team London award enables their efforts to be recognised and celebrated!”

Now in it's second year, the a2b mentoring scheme is delivered in partnership with The Barnet Group and funded by Barnet Council.
